Ben Nakamura was a burned-out React developer who lost his job to AI. Then a truck killed him. Then he woke up as the truck.

Reassigned to the Reincarnation Logistics Division, Ben now works as a divine transfer vehicle: the cosmic delivery system that sends chosen heroes to doomed fantasy worlds through the traditional method of sudden vehicular impact.

His coworkers are a nervous piano, a sensitive monster truck, and a boat who won't stop making nautical puns. His manager is a goddess with a WORLD'S OKAYEST GODDESS mug. His only way back to humanity is a meter that rises whenever he makes the "right" choice.

The problem is that every choice means deciding which stranger gets run over.

The system says it's efficient. Ben thinks the system is wrong.

Kai Ashworth spent a decade building things on the internet that other people would eventually ask him to rebuild slightly to the left. He started as a frontend developer, graduated to fullstack by necessity, and eventually watched an AI chatbot replicate his entire team's output in a demo that lasted eleven minutes and ended his faith in career stability. $ cat motivation.txt
He started writing because the stories he wanted to read — funny ones, with progression systems and found families and protagonists who were definitely not okay but handled it with extremely well-timed sarcasm — kept not existing fast enough.
